Holy Communion
Kindly know that a prerequisite to receive Holy Communion is unity in the Faith, as well as spiritual preparation by prayer, fasting, and regular participation in the Sacrament of Holy Confession.
Non-Orthodox Christians are kindly requested to refrain from receiving Communion. All are, however, welcome to partake of the “antidoron” (blessed bread) distributed at the conclusion of the Service.
Language
Our services are performed in both Greek and English.
Every last Saturday of the month we serve the Divine Liturgy solely in English.
Our Priest, Fr Gregory Craveiro, is fluent in both English and Greek
About our community
The Greek Orthodox Community of St. Athanasios Cambridge was established in 1968 by the late Archbishop Gregorios of Thyateira and Great Britain, who was then the community's priest.
It is a registered charity governed by a Board of Trustees. Its purpose is to serve the religious, educational and social needs of people of Greek and Greek Cypriot origin in Cambridge and the surrounding area.
Hire the St. Athanasios Hall
Our hall is a community resource for the wider Cambridge community and beyond. The hall can be booked via our website.
